Available Positions:
- Modernization (Mod) Mechanic I
HOURS OF WORK: 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM, M-Th. / 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM Fri.
PAY RANGE: $12.34 – $22.72 per hour
QUALIFICATIONS:
This position performs modernization work involved in modernizing vacant and/or occupied units at all sites for the Authority’s Modernization function of the Modernization & Construction Department. Work to include masonry, carpentry, basic plumbing, and minor electrical tasks.
Primarily, this position upgrades units and property by replacing outdated building components with new modern components including cabinets, windows, doors, lighting, faucets, fixtures, etc.
- Unit Turnaround (UT) Mechanic I
HOURS OF WORK: 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM, M-Th. / 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM Fri.
PAY RANGE: $11.20 – $20.59 per hour
QUALIFICATIONS / OVERVIEW:
This position performs basic work involved in preparing vacant units at all sites for the Authority’s Unit
Turnaround function of the Facilities Department.
Primarily this position entails painting and cleaning of vacant units and may include basic masonry,
carpentry, plumbing, and electrical maintenance.
- Family Self-Sufficiency Coordinator
HOURS OF WORK: 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM, M-Th. / 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM Fri.
PAY RANGE: $16.58 – $34.93 per hour
QUALIFICATIONS / OVERVIEW:
This position is located within the Admissions & Occupancy Department of the Johnson City Housing Authority (“Authority”). The Family Self-Sufficiency coordinator (FSS) is responsible for the coordination and oversight of the Family Self-Sufficiency program for the Johnson City Housing Authority (JCHA). The FSS Coordinator is also responsible for assisting with homeownership initiatives and opportunities for eligible participants and maintaining escrow accounts for program participants. Job responsibilities require thorough knowledge of FSS program regulations and reporting requirements, thorough knowledge of social services available in the area and strong organizational, interpersonal and decision-making skills. Job performance is evaluated by the Director of Admissions and Occupancy through review of program participants’ progress toward established goals and objectives, the ability to recruit families into the social services programs offered by the Housing Authority, knowledge and expertise in managing social services programs and providing job opportunities, organizational, interpersonal and decision-making skills and ability to provide effective and appropriate case management services.
- Grants Manager
HOURS OF WORK: 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM, M-Th. / 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM Fri.
PAY RANGE: $ 16.58 – $34.93 per hour
QUALIFICATIONS / OVERVIEW:
This position is located within the Administration Department of the Johnson City Housing Authority (“Authority”). The Grants Manager will be responsible for researching various federal, state, local, and private grant funding sources, coordinating the preparation and submission of grant applications, and monitoring and overseeing projects funded through existing grants. Job related duties require thorough knowledge of available grant funding sources including grant application and administration procedures, auditing and reporting requirements and the ability to effectively monitor grant-funded projects.
