Our staff also encourages and maintains discipline and respect through physically active educationally supportive programs open to all children residing with the Johnson City Housing Community.
Keystone Community Recreation Center provides various programs to exercise their mental and physical capacity.
These are just some of the programs we have:
- Flag Football
- 3 on 3 Basketball Competitions
- Volleyball
- Girls Scouts Programs
- Educational Programs
- Creative Arts
Children who participate in the Programs here at the Keystone Community Recreation Center gain these important benefits:
- Improved cognitive skills and brain development, resulting in better academic achievement.
- Reduced disruptive behavior through stress reduction and development of social skills.
- Improved health and self-esteem, resulting in fewer negative outcomes such as drop-out rates, teen pregnancy, and absenteeism due to physical and emotional health problems as children grow older.
Lastly, children who attend the Community Center will have fun, while developing healthy habits, they'll become better students, and staffs and teachers will find it easier to manage their classrooms and recreation areas.
