About the Department
We at the Department of Resident Services are glad you’ve chosen to reside in one of the Johnson City Housing Authority’s developments. We are a small department with a big
objective: To work with residents and the community – churches, schools, volunteers and other agencies – so our neighborhoods become the best they can be.
The key to making all of this work is the resident organizations. There are seven “Resident Councils” (the Parkway and Dunbar developments share one). Each council is made up of all adults living in the development, and is represented by five officers. Each council operates a “Resident Center” in an apartment that has been placed off-line so it can be a community gathering place.
